By Operavennforening and Skeive Stemmer Operakompani

with music by Benny og Bjørn

Tuesday 15. December 19:00
Rosendal Kafé
Welcome to an evening with the fantastic music of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

You will hear acoustic versions of well-known ABBA hits, as well as lesser-known musical and classical compositions by these Swedish legends.

Oda Fredriksen holds a master’s degree in classical singing from NTNU, Department of Music, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Agder and Barratt Due Music Institute. She is active as both a soloist and ensemble singer and has been engaged in the opera chorus in several productions with, among others, Opera Trøndelag and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera. She is currently employed with Trondheim Vocal Ensemble and Nidaros Vokal, in addition to working as a soloist in works such as Mozart’s Requiem, Rachmaninov’s Vespers, and Vivaldi’s Gloria.

Fredriksen has received talent scholarships from Opera Trøndelag’s Friends Association, SpareBank 1 Midt-Norge, and the Sine Butenschøn Foundation.

Ingeborg is from Hamar. She was educated at the Trondheim Conservatory of Music and works primarily as a freelance musician in Trøndelag and Innlandet.

In addition to being a frequently engaged soloist, she regularly works with Trondheim Vocal Ensemble. She has also worked with Opera Trøndelag, Operaen i Kristiansund, Opera Rogaland, Sandnes Opera and Operetta Company, and the Vestfold Symphony Orchestra.

On several occasions she has participated in productions with “Opera di Setra,” most recently in the newly composed opera Flåklypa Tidendes opera by Ronald Rørvik, Toni Herlofsson, and Eva Holm Foosnæs, with performances in 2023 and 2024.

Mathias has broad experience in both classical and popular music. He holds a bachelor’s degree in performing music from NTNU’s Open Music Programme, with classical singing as his main instrument and jazz singing as a secondary focus.

During his studies, he performed with ensembles such as Trondheim Vocal Ensemble, Nidaros Vokal, NTNU Jazz Ensemble, Trondheim Symphonic Opera Chorus, and the Oscarsborg Opera Chorus. Mathias has participated both as a soloist and in ensemble and chamber music projects, including the Renaissance duo Duo ViWe.

Sivert is a freelance singer, choir conductor, and vocal teacher from Trondheim.

He completed his bachelor’s degree in classical singing at NTNU, Department of Music, in 2019. Sivert has been engaged with Opera Trøndelag, Operaen i Kristiansund, and Opera Østfold. He made his debut in 2019 in the role of Vicomte Cascada in The Merry Widow. Since then, he has appeared as Monostatos in The Magic Flute, Rolf in The Sound of Music, and Simon Snusen in Flåklypa – Tidendes Opera. Sivert received Opera Trøndelag Friends’ Talent Award in 2020.

Knut Erik has had a close collaboration with us at Operakafé at Rosendal since its inception in 2020. He lives in Selbu and is a university lecturer at NTNU, Department of Music, head of the piano class at the Saturday School at Trondheim Cultural School, and maintains an extensive freelance career.

He holds a master’s degree in piano performance from the Trondheim Conservatory. He has long been a highly sought-after musician in Trøndelag, particularly in opera as an accompanist and repetiteur, as well as a chamber musician and soloist. Since 2007, he has performed nearly 200 concerts in the United States, mostly as a solo artist but also with singers and as a soloist with orchestras.

In recent years, highlights include performances of all of Grieg’s songs in Seattle across seven concerts, as well as solo appearances in piano concertos by Grieg and Klaus Egge. His own projects focus extensively on Norwegian piano music, both by commissioning new works from composers and rediscovering lesser-performed repertoire. In 2013, he commissioned and premiered the piano sonata Ruf und Nachklang by Ståle Kleiberg, and in 2022 he performed on the album Requiem, Læreren som ikke ble and Trisyn by Marcus Paus, together with Knut Stiklestad. He has a highly versatile background across multiple genres and instruments. He is currently featured on two new album releases, including as pianist for Tone Kummervold on Unravel Tradition (Simax) and Where Folk Music Meets Classical.
