Conversations with gravity
By Kristina Gjems
- a calm, introspective, and intimate experience, ideal for those drawn to poetic, somatic, and sensory explorations.
Welcome to an intimate encounter with gravity, a dialogue between stillness and movement. In this solo performance choreographer and dancer Kristina Gjems explores how the body communicates with the invisible force beneath us.
“I want to explore how gravity both kneads us through resistance and generously supports us, offering a hand we can grasp, like plants and trees anchoring themselves in the earth to grow upward and outward.
Drawing inspiration from the interplay between macrocosm and microcosm, the performance invites reflection on gravity as both supportive ally and challenging counterpart. The audience is led deep into layers of embodied experience through minimalist movement, an evocative soundscape and interactions with sculptures by Eric Willaims. Conversations with gravity is a calm, introspective, and intimate experience, ideal for those drawn to poetic, somatic, and sensory explorations.
