Join Kathy Hinde on a Deep Listening walk to "tune" into the sounds around us in new ways. Kathy amplifies the sounds we usually don't notice and reveals sounds that are normally inaccessible to the human ear. Experience the small sounds emitted by tiny organisms living underwater and underground, zoom in on distant sounds, discover the electromagnetic sound world, and listen from a tree’s perspective. The soundscape is mixed live and transmitted to wireless headphones for a shared listening experience. The walk will take place around Lademoen, Svartlamon, and Nyhavna, lasting one hour.

Kathy Hinde is an interdisciplinary artist who creates installations, performances, and site-specific experiences aimed at nurturing a deeper, more embodied connection to the more-than-human world. Composed of handmade objects, electronics, and a mix of digital and analog systems, her work represents a crossover between kinetic sound sculptures and newly invented musical instruments. She creates pieces in response to specific locations and often collaborates with other performers and researchers, actively involving the audience in the creative process.

Kathy has toured across Europe, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Colombia, Australia, and New Zealand. Her awards include an Ivor Novello Award, an honorary mention at Prix Ars Electronica, a British Composer Award, an ORAM Award, and a Scottish Award for New Music. Kathy received an honorary doctorate in music from Bath Spa University and is a member of Bristol Experimental Expanded Film (BEEF).
