Safariland
By Kristinsdottir/Willyson
A travel journal in pub format
Safariland is a travel diary in a pub format. Mattis and Tom Rudy from northern norway guide us through a tale of what happens when well-meaning southerners set out to discover the world.
We meet Arne, who travels to Kenya to write a book about his grandfather – a man who, in 1952, made the deeply problematic film “Safariland – Among the N* and Wild Animals of East Africa”. With him is performance artist Randy, who dreams of going on safari.
The trip does not go as planned.
After a few weeks in Kenya, the whole entourage ends up in East Finnmark. There, they seek the heart of the powerful northern Norwegian storytelling tradition – and in Randy’s case, perhaps a shot at love in a region rumoured to have a shortage of women.
Kristinsdottir/Willyson are known for their experimental, tender and bitingly funny performances, where big questions and strong feelings collide with very small humans.
«Safariland» er en reisedagbok i pubformat, om Øst-Finnmark og Øst-Afrika i uskjønn forening. Forestillingen spilles hos Lille London pub. Etter hver forestilling blir det mulig å skåle, slarve og synse sammen med kompaniet.
