Brogan Davison, en sosialt klosset og gebrekkelig engelsk kvinne, entrer «scenen» aleine i en stor røyksky for å gi sitt livs forestilling. Showet beveger seg grasiøst på grensen mellom stor suksess og total fiasko i sin feiring av livets sårbare og absurde sider. Like mye som det er ustyrtelig morsomt og alvorlig ment, er det et storslagent forsøk på å forbinde seg til verden og menneskene i den. Frivillige verter kan invitere venner, naboer, kjæledyr, bekjente og hvem de måtte ønske å dele denne Brogan Davison Show-kvelden med.

Den islandsk-engelske gruppen Dance For Me har som utgangspunkt å lage sårbare og off-key / tonedøve forestillinger, og gjester kan forvente seg et brutalt rått show, men som er fylt av kjærlighet, raseri, dristighet og fjolleri.

ENGLISH:

The Brogan Davison Show is a spectacular stand-up performance that for this years edition of the Bastard Festival will be entering the living rooms of the townspeople of Trondheim. Standing alone ‘onstage’ Brogan Davison - a socially awkward, mentally-fragile English woman - enters in a huge puff of smoke to give the performance of a lifetime. Her show dances on the delicate line of great success and total failure, celebrating the vulnerable and often absurd nature of life. As hilarious as it is sincere, this event is a grandiose attempt of a lonely human to connect to world and the people within it. Each volunteer ‘host’ can invite their friends, family, neighbours, pets, acquaintances or whomever they wish to spend an evening of The Brogan Davison Show with. Through Dance For Me’s vulnerable and off-key approach to performance making, guests can expect a brutally raw performance full of love, rage, bravery and stupidity.

NB: The four hosts will invite the audience, so only people who have been invited by a host can attend the show. So if you want to see this show, you will have to house it or make somebody you know do it.

Dance For Me is the award-winning collaboration of Brogan Davison (UK) and Pétur Ármannsson (IS). Located within the field of real fiction, their work explores the relationship of a lived life and it’s representation and tackles questions that arise from the act of staging a ‘self’ through their trademark vulnerable and off-key approach to performance making.
