Æ bar dæ inn i verden

A performance inspired by Hans Eisler and Kurt Weill music, and lyrics by Bertolt Brecht.

A varied program with known and unknown gems and anecdotes from the treasure trove of opera and operetta.

Varighet: 2h 30min
Tuesday 5. November 19:00
Rosendal Kafé

What can you expect?
At Operakafé you will be served a varied program with well-known and unknown gems and anecdotes from the treasure trove of opera and operetta, in relaxed surroundings. A musical meeting place that brings out marginalised, innovative and fearless opera artists, musicians and newcomers in the initial phase of their careers.

Emilie brings with her Brage Kristian Einum on piano and Aleksa Borojevic on bass clarinet. All of Brecht's texts have been translated into Norwegian and rewritten in dialect. Apart from Brecht's texts, Emilie herself has written monologues to tie it all together. This will be an acoustic version in the Opera cafe's unique and informal setting.

Playwright and poet Bertolt Brecht depicted with his texts the lives of the working class in 20th century Germany. These texts are brought to life through the music of Kurt Weill and Hans Eisler. It is a raw and brutal everyday life with themes that we can find relevant even today. In this performance, the woman, the mother and the child have a central place. What is it like to be a woman and a mother in a world in turmoil? Who has the right to decide over a woman's body and head? War is not only out on the battlefield, but also in the home and in society where each one of us has to fight for who we are, what we get and what we stand for."

We offer a reduced ticket price for students, honorees and Opera friends. We have lift access - and accept accompanying proof, remember to notify in advance. Please get in touch if you need assistance, or if you want to join the opera friends association. operavennforening@gmail.com

The opera cafe at Rosendal was launched in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic; a collaboration with Rosendal Teater, Skeive Stemmer Operakompani, and Operavennforening. The purpose of the association is to support activities at the Opera Café in Rosendal in collaboration with Skeive Stemmer opera company. A musical meeting place that promotes marginalised, innovative and fearless opera artists and newly established ones in the initial phase of their careers. We create assignments and stimulate dialogue, increased knowledge and interest in the art form in Trondheim and the surrounding area.

Content description

Rosendal Teater programs work that challenges what performing art can be, where it takes place and who will create it. We work with voices that are heard less often than others, that are marginalised and alternative. All this means that the performances can often be challenging in their content and expression. If you need to leave the show midway, we have a low threshold and a great deal of understanding for this. On the second floor you will find a relaxed space, where you can retreat. Read more about the relaxed space and accessibility here.
