And We Cheerfully Put the Gods to Death
By: Spreafico Eckly
Join us on a unique and dreamlike journey in North Dakota at Trolls Lounge, a bar where the local Norwegian-American community gathers for karaoke and drinks.
The audience is drawn into a complex and gripping narrative where we are introduced to Anna, a newly arrived Norwegian tourist who steps into the bar. Her presence creates immediate expectations among the locals, but these expectations are ultimately disappointed. The performance explores themes such as prejudice, identity, expectations, and misconceptions.
And We Cheerfully Put the Gods To Death involves the audience on stage, and through playing with expectations and reality, Andrea Spreafico and Helga Guren create a work of humour and confrontation.

Content description
Rosendal Teater programs work that challenges what performing art can be, where it takes place and who will create it. We work with voices that are heard less often than others, that are marginalised and alternative. All this means that the performances can often be challenging in their content and expression. If you need to leave the show midway, we have a low threshold and a great deal of understanding for this. On the second floor you will find a relaxed space, where you can retreat. Read more about the relaxed space and accessibility here (link).
