Dear guest.
The Ballad of Bøler is by us told and a horse that’s old. We travel through both day and night, through dark and light. Eat old bread and apples red, dance through life, through death and dread. Carry her through pain and rain, a tribute to joy, to loss, to gain. As dancers and band, we move with pride – a ballad of doing things side by side.
In this performance, the artists appear both as live band and dance ensemble. Together, these seasoned creators question the notion of individual artistic presence, working with dance and music as a shared, collective act.
With Bøler Samvirkelag+, we operate as a performer-led company, inviting choreographers to create works with us. Those we invite guide us into artistic processes where we engage deeply with their practices, methods, and approaches. We strive to collaborate with artists with a broad range of interests, aesthetics, and ways of working. In 2022, we presented Granddaughters with choreographers Eliisa Erävalo and Halla Ólafsdóttir—a dramatic and theatrical piece built around a powerful sense of female solidarity, both in theme and on stage.
Bøler Samvirkelag consists of dance artists Ingeleiv Berstad, Ida Gudbrandsen, Marie Bergby Handeland, Kristin Ryg Helgebostad, Pernille Holden, Marianne Kjærsund, Sigrid Kopperdal, and Venke Marie Sortland. We share a commitment to artist-driven processes, self-organization, the interplay between practice and theory, and the redistribution of power. Bøler Samvirkelag is our space to explore these ideas in action.
The performance is part of the Multiplié Dance Festival 2026 presented by DansiT
