This fall’s unique salon offers you the chance to get to know the universe of an artist who uses the clown as a powerful tool for liberation and for redefining oneself.

Silvia Gribaudi is an Italian choreographer and performer who, since 2004, has explored the social impact of the body. Her choreographic language is rooted in humor and in the dynamic relationship between performer and audience, and revolves around questions of liberation and identity. What exists within us, at the outer edges of our identity? And what can be found in the space between performer and audience?

About the artist

Silvia Gribaudi’s works have been presented at major festivals across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and are shaped through creative processes based on dialogue and poetic exchange with other artists, companies, and communities.

These are supported respectively by the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo and the Norwegian Embassy in Rome, as well as the Italian Ministry of Culture and Performing Arts Hub Norway.

The project involves key cultural partners from both Norway and Italy, including Bærum Kulturhus – Dance South-East Norway, BIT Teatergarasjen, DansiT – Choreographic Center, Davvi – Center for Performing Arts, Anghiari Dance Hub, L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora, Fabbrica Europa, and Fondazione I Teatri.

The residency project will be presented at CODA/The Den on October 15 – read more about the project here.
