The merry wives of Windsor

A guerilla opera by Skeive Stemmer

Queer take on Shakespeare

What is better in a Queer Culture Year and as a salute to Trondheim Pride's 25th anniversary than throwing a queer opera in our eastern part of town?

Collector of: Laughs

A collaboration with Trondheim Pride

How far can you go to get revenge? Will these ladies live up to their feminist ideals? What can we learn about gender roles from this little tale from an English town, set many years ago? These questions and more may be answered when we welcome Skeive Stemmer with William Shakespeare’s witty comedy as opera, created by Otto Nicolai in a Norwegian suit.

William Shakespeare's witty comedy is set to catchy music in this operetta by Otto Nicolai. Skeive Stemmer focuses on the humor in the play, but also on what we can learn about gender and gender roles in this story from a small town in England. The performance is sung in Norwegian.
