CHOREOGRAPHY (2021) is an anthology of newly written texts by artists or colleagues who work closely in the field of dance and choreography. The anthology wants to expand and build a rich and complex understanding of choreography as a concept and field - at the crossroads between artistic practice and reflection. In this edition you will find texts on how we can decolonise Nordic dance and on the infrastructural and economic situation of the Norwegian dance field in a historical perspective. There are also texts that make artistic research available, that have an interdisciplinary focus, that are written by, about and as a collective, as well as form experiments that explore text as an extended choreographic practice. All texts are available in both Norwegian and English.

Contributors in this edition are Sigrid Øvreås Svendal, Ingri Fiksdal, Kristine Tjøgersen, Chloe Chignell, Hanna Järvinen, Goro Tronsmo, Solveig Styve Holte, Karin Erixon, Lasse Høgenhof, Roza Moshtaghi and Karen Eide Bøen. Graphic design is by Kim Hiorthøy.

CHOREOGRAPHY (2021) is published independently by the editors Solveig Styve Holte, Ann-Christin Kongsness and Venke Marie Sortland and is supported by the Norwegian Cultural Council. This is the third edition they publish of KOREOGRAFI, the two previous editions from 2016 and 2018 can be downloaded for free as pdf files here: https://www.choreography.no.

Available artistry? A knowledge project about artists with disabilities in Norway

Based on the experiences of both artists and art and cultural institutions, a new research project seeks to identify aspects that support or hinder people with disabilities from working as professional artists in visual art, performing arts, music, and literature in Norway. The research project is initiated and owned by Arts Council Norway, led by Fafo in collaboration with NTNU.

The project is groundbreaking and timely in the Norwegian context, not least because Elen Øyen, who is herself a dance artist and has a disability, is involved as a co-researcher from NTNU. That people with disabilities themselves need to be involved in researching themselves and their situation with their perspectives should be obvious, however has not been so.

At Multiplié, Elen Øyen and co-researcher Tone Pernille Østern, both from NTNU, present the ongoing project

Fafo is an independent social science research foundation that develops knowledge on the conditions for participation in working life, organisational life, society and politics, the relationship between politics and living conditions, as well as on democracy, development and value creation. Project manager from Fafo is Lise Lien.

The project owner is the Arts Council Norway, who in 2020 was commissioned as the

national coordinator for increased diversity, inclusion, and participation in the cultural sector.
