Entitled

By Stian Danielsen (NO)

A lovely mix of body, vulnerability and stand-up

Varighet: 50 minutes
Choreographer Stian Danielsen invites us into a mid-life crisis. With his body as an expression for identity he wants to tell us something about being human.

Language: English

Presented by Dansit and Dansenett Norge

Our identity is connected to our cultural heritage, rase, sexual preferences and gender, age, and social class. We are early socialized into an endless pressure of expectations about who we are, how we see ourself, and how others see us. Some of these expectations are created for us, some we create ourself. Yet, too often, our individual expressions are suppressed, misunderstood or interpreted as abnormal.

With the solo performance Entitled, choreographer Stian Danielsen invites us into a personal story told in a physical manner. The artist takes us into a dark cave where he uses his own body to unveil the diversity within, as a humanitarian expression against exclusion. The performance aims to unravel space and gender, before dissolving into a recognition that first and foremost, we are humans.
