As soon as someone says “Heimert,” (moonshine) the memories awaken.

Secrets. Community. Curiosity.

Illegal fun – with a hint of something you perhaps shouldn’t have done.

For some, the moonshine tastes like freedom, togetherness, and laughter.

For others: shame, silence, and tears.

Ane Aass and Rasmus Rohde have delved into the history of moonshine and distilled a warm-hearted performance about humanity’s desire for intoxication and the allure of drink.

In the play, we meet a father, a son, and a young housekeeper in a home where the coffee cup is never empty and memories cling to the walls.

We meet the one who left, the one who stayed, and the one who still believes life can be measured in beats and points.

What we drink, when we drink it, and what we play on the stereo says a lot about who we are and where we come from. Music carries us from village parties to hangovers, from Arnsteins to Carina Dahl.

Welcome to a performance that smells of freshly brewed coffee and moonshine – and tastes of both laughter and vulnerability.

Artist Talk 25 March

An artist talk with performers from the company will take place immediately after the performance on 25 March, in the auditorium. The moderator for the conversation will be announced closer to the date. The talk is free of charge and will last up to 60 minutes.
