NORMAL
by 71BODIES / Daniel Mariblanca (ES/NO)
The production at its core, embodies the physical expressions related to affection, care, intimacy, togetherness and its collective power within bodies that exist and live outside of the norm. NORMAL is about people, bodies and stories that do not belong to mainstream society. It is also about the interactions and intersections that exist between disabilities, sexuality and gender identity.
71BODIES is a transgender-inclusive dance and performance company based in Bergen, Norway. Founded by Daniel Mariblanca in 2016, the company develops in a sustainable way, where one project inspires the other, and leads on to the next. The company's main intention is to work in and with marginalized parts of society; especially where the body is in focus. 71BODIES emphasizes different narratives through the inclusion of essential perspectives conveyed through drawing, photography, and documentary video art that become part of the company's dance and performance performances.
