Papa
by Halla Ólafsdóttir & Sindri Runudde
Under a gigantic inflatable cloud, hovering above both stage and audience, Halla and Sindri dance through a world of imaginary fathers and unpredictable outbursts.
With charm and a touch of dark humour, the piece explores power, desire, and the tender act of care. On a spectrum of father figures, a collage of scenes unfolds. Enter a dreamlike world where fathers transform into something far beyond what you ever imagined.
Under a gigantic inflatable cloud, hovering above both stage and audience, Halla and Sindri dance through a world of imaginary fathers and unpredictable outbursts. Fluffy Tedd Femme costumes, with soft little rain clouds hidden inside their human bodies, cast shadows on the daddies we want to be, and everything we refuse to become.
Halla and Sindri have very different relationships with father figures in their lives. Sindri bears the so-called daddy issues, and Halla, is the so-called daddy’s girl. In Papa they translate their personal mythologies into fiction, tracing the outlines of masculinity, power, desire and care.
The performance is part of the Multiplié Dance Festival 2026 presented by DansiT
