Protest party
By the Young Curators
BASTARD – Trondheim International Performing Arts Festival 2025
We don’t demand—we dance.
We don’t shout—we celebrate.
Take your racism, sexism, transphobia, ageism, ableism and hate somewhere else.
Four young local curators are throwing a party for a free Palestine, for queer freedom, for indigenous rights. And for everything else worth dancing for.
Expect DJs, dancing and more.
It’s a vibe. Be there.
Young Curators
What happens when four young adults (ages 18 to 29) get free reign to shape the theatre’s programme?
Since January the four curators Marit, Nicolai, Maiken og Ferdinand have been meeting with the theatre’s artistic team to reflect on what Rosendal Theatre could be for them. They have discussed theatre, dance, club culture, emotions, politics, Palestine, protests and parades. From tags and Tiktoks to slugs, zine publishing and seagulls. They’ve debated art’s role in social change, inclusion, protest, and community-building.
With all these conversations as a foundation, the curators host three collaboratively curated events with Rosendal this autumn:
- Fæst for byen
- a performance event at the Trondheim Pride parade day,
- a protest party
— all artistically supercharged, politically engaged, and deeply personally motivated.
Curated with local young curators | Nicolai Allessandro Mancilla Amador, Marit Bringedal Anti, Maiken Ustad Lian and Ferdinand Nordskag. |
