Queer Encounters: Kor Hen og Friends of Dorothy

Av Kor Hen

Varighet: 1t 40m
Get ready for pop classics, folk songs and poetic punk! Queer Encounters marks the second full-length LGBTQ choir concert ever in Trondheim, bringing together Trondheim’s own Kor Hen and the amazing Helsinki ensemble The Friends of Dorothy. Join us for an evening of singing and dancing, where we will bedazzle you with our queer chords and charisma. This spectacle, taking place at Rosendal theatre, promises to be Trondheim's biggest queer cultural event beyond Pride week!

The Friends of Dorothy is a queer a cappella group based in Helsinki, Finland and consists of five singers. Through songs and music from marginalized groups and stories of discrimination, they create exiting performances. The group was established in 2018 and they have performed in Finland, Sweden, and Estonia. This is their first time visiting Norway and Trondheim, and we can hardly wait!

Kor Hen is Trondheim's very first LGBTQ choir. Since its founding in the summer of 2017, the choir has grown to a size of around 25 singers of different ages, nationalities, and musical abilities. Kor Hen is led by our talented conductor Snorre Sletten. The repertoire is mostly popular music from the Nordic and wider Anglo-American world. Kor Hen is supported by FRI Trøndelag, the regional board of the Norwegian national LGBTQ organisation FRI - Foreningen for kjønns- og seksualitetsmangfold. The concert is also funded by Trondheim Municipality.
