Serve and Protect

Av: Direct Action Theatre

The performance explores the role of the police in all its seriousness, with an absurd lightness.

Duration: 1 h 30 m
Serve and Protect is a performance that promises to both challenges and enchant. The performance explores the role of the police in all its seriousness, with an absurd lightness.

Dressed head to toe in police riot gear, the performers look to draws you into the surreal, where power structures are deconstructed and reshaped through dance. Drawing from the group´s public interventions, the performance will twist the traditional power roles in society and use the energy of violence and protest to touch on themes of grief, war, uniformity, and brutality.

After the show on november 27th there will be held an artist talk.

Before the show we invite you to a photo exhibition in sal 2 that shows images from the process of creating the performance. The exhibition is open from 18.00

Rosendal Teater programs work that challenges what performing art can be, where it takes place and who will create it. We work with voices that are heard less often than others, that are marginalised and alternative. All this means that the performances can often be challenging in their content and expression. If you need to leave the show midway, we have a low threshold and a great deal of understanding for this. On the second floor you will find a relaxed space, where you can retreat. Read more about the relaxed space and accessibility here.
