We are looking for women aged 45 - 65 for the performance "When the Bleeding Stops"!

Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir, a dancer and choreographer from Iceland, is doing research for her upcoming performance “When the Bleeding Stops” at Rosendal Teater in February. In this work of art, menopausal women, around the world, are in the lead roles.

Lovísa would like to invite women in Trondheim to join the project. It should be noted that participation does not require any stage or dance experience and takes place mostly at home in the living room, at a time that suits everyone. We are looking for women in the age group 45-65. Those who are interested in getting more information and possibly participating in a small part of the project please contact Malu Gabard from Rosendal Teater at malu@rosendalteater.no.

About When the Bleeding Stops by Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir:

As a woman in her early forties, dancer and choreographer Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir has become fascinated by menopause and middle-aged women. In her new performance work “When the Bleeding Stops”, she addresses the excruciating silence and taboo that seems to engulf this topic in Western society.

Working with a group of extraordinary middle-aged women from across Icelandic society, When the Bleeding Stops invites audiences into a world of vulnerability, shame, empathy and humour. Transporting us into the privacy of their homes, the work dives deep into the many layers of the female experience associated with menopause and invites us to laugh, cry and celebrate with these women.
