Approximately 40 years ago, in the same year that Teaterhuset Avant Garden (the former name of Rosendal Teater, ed. note) was established, Cirka Teater was founded by Anne Marit Sæther from Trondheim and Gilles Berger from France. Since 1984, the company has made a significant impact in the Norwegian independent performing arts scene, and today, it is one of the country’s most experienced companies.

In 2024, a major anniversary year awaits. It will be celebrated in January with a whole month where Cirka takes over the stages at Rosendal. This will be a unique opportunity for reunions and first-time experiences with a theater company that has truly left its mark on Trondheim with its many unique contributions to theater history.
