The concept was born in 2022 as a result of the desire to build new and accessible communities around art. Opening up to the neighbourhood and the city in a way that makes everyone feel welcome!
The menu always includes soup, and it's always free. The soup is made by Lamomat, a food project and social meeting place where immigrant women from different countries cook traditional food from their home countries. Lamomat uses the kitchen at Rosendal Kafé, and will eventually supply food for open pop-up events in the café. The collaboration with Suppekjøkken is an exciting pilot, and we are proud to collaborate on delivering food to our monthly artist meetings!
A new artist comes to Suppekjøkken every time, either someone who has a performance with us in the current season, from our network or someone who has a residency at Rosendal Theatre during the period. The artists will share their thoughts, projects, working methods and visions, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the conversation.
Welcome to a warm and tasty lunch supplemented with exciting conversations about soup, personal stories, themes that occupy us and the artist/company's artistry.
Free admission!
PS: The time is fixed from 12.00-13.30, new artist each time - you can find the next Soup Kitchen below here:-)
