Out of the egg hatches a small chick that turns everything upside down. The newborn wants to eat, sleep, and play, and the installers find themselves caught in an involuntary choreography of care, constantly improvising: building nests, finding food, playing along.

The more they try to stay in control, the bigger the chaos grows. Will they be able to clean up the mess they’ve created?

This performance touches on different stages of childhood and parenthood, from the innocent fragility of life’s beginning to the rebellion of unruly youth. Care has a way of turning many of life’s defined roles upside down: What does it mean to be a parent? What does it mean to be an installer? What does it mean to create?

Utstillingen (The Exhibition) is Cirka Teater’s tribute to the delightful chaos of parenthood, full of strange encounters, playful inventions, and wildly imaginative artistic expression.
