Propellen Teaters Fagdager 2022

Is this site-specific performing arts?

Varighet: approx. 7 timer
A professional symposium on the site-specific in the performing arts.

PROPELLENS PROFFESIONAL FOCUSDAYS 2022

Is this site-specific performing arts? Materiality, motivation and the future!

2 November 10.00-16.00 (doors open at 09.00)

3 November 10.00-16.00 (doors open at 09.30)

Welcome to two days of inspiration, process, conversation and mingling. Workshopholders, speakers and panelists are Lise Hovik, Frank Ekeberg, Lisa Størseth Pettersen, Anna Thu Schmidt, Heli Aaltonen and Sister Hope (DK). On the first day, we will go out into Rosendal Theatre's local environment with mini-workshops where the workshop holders lead their group in a short but exciting process. On the second day, the artists will give presentations of their own work, as well as participate in exploratory conversations with moderators and the audience.

In our second year of site-specific exploration, the interdisciplinary aspect is extra important and both sound art, installation, dance art, performance art and theater are part of the exploration. We open up to society in general and ask ourselves what the motivation for working with site-specific art and performing arts is, as well as discussing what opportunities there are for site-specific performing arts in the future, and what place it has in the political and ecological context today.

The tickets for the two days are ordered separately. The mini-workshop is chosen on the same day on a "first-come, first-served basis" and it is possible to sign up for the course you want from the doors opening on 2nd of November. The professional days are held in Norwegian, but questions and comments are most welcomed to be asked in English. Free entry and open to all!

The event is part of Propellen Teater's research project on site-specific performing arts, which includes activities such as workshops, professional focus days, PROPELLARTannouncements and fanzine publications. Follow along at www.propellenteater.no.

Presented by Propellen Teater in collaboration with Rosendal Teater and NTNU Drama and Theatre.
